The villa is located on a hill overlooking Souda Bay, in Marathi, which is one of the 20 villages on the Akrotiri peninsula. Marathi is located 17 km east of Chania and 5 km east of the southeastern coast of Akrotiri. It is a popular resort in the Chania area.
The surrounding area is a completely natural environment, ideal for relaxation, yet very close to all kinds of supplies, shops, restaurants, and services.
Close to the villa is the village of Sternes, where you will find a mini market and a pharmacy. Most supplies, however, can be found in Kounoupidiana (8 km away from the villa), which is the largest village on the Akrotiri peninsula.
Marathi boasts two beautiful beaches with fine sand and shallow, calm waters, ideal for children. They are very well protected from the winds, as they face south and offer a lovely view of Drapanos Cape and the White Mountains. The beaches are separated by a small pier, which also serves as a harbor for fishing boats and small ferries. The area is well organized with all necessary amenities nearby.
Another well-known beach near the villa (just 2.2 km away) that is worth visiting is Loutraki.
Furthermore, in the Akrotiri area, you will find remarkable historical monuments, centuries-old monasteries and churches, as well as impressive caves of significant geological and archaeological interest.
If you are looking for larger markets and entertainment, Chania city is only a 10–15-minute drive away from the villa.
